The arch constructions of the crypt chapels are revealed and reconstructed to create the character of a archeological excavation site. In this way the crypt can unfold its spatial and symbolic impact as the foundation and origin of the church. From the depth of the crypt the upper church interior rises physically and symbolically. To emphasize this metaphor we utilize an alteration of the symbol `flower of life´ to develop and design all primary elements like the circulation and the new seating platform on the basis of it. The `flower of life´ is a geometric structure, that consists of a great number of circular lines, that generate the forms of overlapping petals. The symbol is spread around the world in all religions and represents open mindedness. The perforation of the new platform symbolizes the `seed of life´ and enlightens the crypt to transform it to a place to meet for exhibitions, lectures and events. The elevation of the church floor enables the insertion of a new level between the crypt and the chuch interior to accomodate the vestry. In close vicinity to the altar the vestry aligns radially around the crypt. As the space for preparation we ascribe a high importance to it by draping it with alternating transluscent and transparent walls, allowing the visitors to gain insights to the liturgical garments and items.
